The popular Homemaker Magazine featured a three page spread in their June edition on the fabulous Artist & Illustrator Kim Anderson. Kim revealed her love for colour, whimsical design, her life and works and future plans.

My inspiration really is all the fab bright candy colours and doodling or creating intricate designs with my pen and using mixed media collage….and ‘love’ and ‘magic’ of course……Kim Anderson
About Kim Anderson
Since graduating in Textile and Surface design, Kim has created an extensive portfolio of artwork for a variety of greetings card publishers, gift wrap, cross stitch kits and wall art in the UK, Europe and the United States. She creates pretty and whimsical illustrations using a mixed media of pens, inks, collage and glitter. She believes in creating art that is happy and feels magical!
Kim’s greetings card ranges have been in the prestigious finals of the Henries Awards, the highest accolade for design talent within the UK card industry. She is recognised for her use of paint, pen, ink and paper collage work which has contributed to some beautiful ranges.
Her commercial success has naturally followed on from her inspirational artwork and led to several collaborations with high profile companies such as wall art for Oopsy Daisy and The Art Group, along with top selling cross stitch kits from Bothy Threads.
Kim gets inspiration from the colours and textures in everyday life. This might include vintage objects, contemporary art, interior design or simply creative images from magazines. Kim is also inspired by artists such as Picasso, Elizabeth Blackadder and The Bloomsbury Group. Sometimes just taking a stroll around her colourful and cultural hometown of Brighton can provide the spark which is enough to start the creative process.
Kim lives and works from her home in Brighton with her partner, son and their three cats.
