I adore my Hurricane Lanterns, they always look fabulous when we place candles inside them in the summer months in our small outside space. It gives the most delicious soft warm glow for those balmy evenings.
But what happens to them in the winter months? They are usually left out in the cold to weather the elements. So I thought I would bring them indoors and make use of them for the Christmas season!
I gave them a quick clean, by scrapping out candle wax residue and wiped them clean, followed by a little wipe over with soft wax on the metal frame.
I do lots of Christmas Craft fairs so have lots of battery operated twinkling lights to decorate my stand. You can find all manner of designs and colour ways these days.
Simply pile your Lantern with the lights and hey presto!! I also used the same idea for my large candle holder and topped it with baubles
The great thing about this idea is it’s perfect to give light to any dark corners of your home, look great on the landing, perfect to add of soft glow in the bedroom (adult and children alike!) and of course you can use them outside!
Give it a go this Christmas…..x
