What you’ll need

Vase

Papers

Scissors (optional)

Paintbrush

Cling film (yes, cling film!)

Decoupage glue, if you can use one that is dual glue and gloss finish

Quick Dry Clear Varnish

Let’s get started..

1. You don’t need much room for this, any flat surface will do, so prepare the area by covering with cloth/newspaper or cardboard. Gather up all you cut out papers. I’m using lots of inspirational words and floral cuts from magazines. You can tear or cut…there are no rules!

2. Spread the glue to the surface using your paint brush and place your paper on top,  If your paper isn’t laying as flat as you would like, this is where Cling Film is king!! Either wrap a length around your fingers or make into a sponge shape and just gently push the paper flat…The cling won’t stick and damage your paper, it’s like magic! Using the paintbrush spread remaining decoupage glue over the paper, this overcoat also acts as a gloss varnish and sealant.

3. Carry on spreading the glue and adding your papers covering the entire area. Don’t be afraid to overlap papers and if it tears just add another piece on top! Once your vase is covered leave it to dry ( a couple of hours will do) then apply 2 coats of quick dry clear varnish. Use the recommended drying time in-between coats….It’s done and ready to be filled with your favourite blooms!!
